Bonjour Everyone,
My name is Lucie and like many others, I’m a “Frenchy” living amongst my fellow Americans.
Here is my little story. I was lucky enough to have grown up in the country side of France. There were 300 inhabitants in my village and my neighbors were cows. My parents are extremely great cooks; we had a garden, went to the farmers’ market on weekends, went mushroom and “pissenlit” picking in the springtime and sometimes, got our milk directly from our “neighbors”. Of course, I never realized how lucky I was to be eating such good food all the time, I just thought that was normal. Since everyone in my family is such a great cook (did I mention my sister went to culinary school), I’ve always played the role of “sous-chef”, chopping away veggies, and leaving the art of the cooking to the “masters”.
Then, I moved abroad for college and realized I had it real good back home! Since I LOVE to eat, I started cooking for myself, trying to recreate the delicious dishes from my past. Little by little, I discovered that not only I like eating food, I also like making it too! Lucky me, I’m the producer and the consumer at the same time. My cooking has since evolved to include all the different cultures I lived in: France, Quebec, Austria and New Mexico (go green chili!).
I created this blog mainly for 2 reasons: Make myself write about my cooking at least once a week (I cook almost every day, but most of the time I don’t remember the recipe I just created on the fly, and what do you know, it turns out to be fantastic! Zut alors!). And the second reason is of course to share all my wonderful cooking discoveries with all of you out there.
Enjoy, Bon Appétit and C’est la Vie!
